Young people are valuable members of our community. They offer unique perspectives, individual talents and are essential in shaping a brighter future. Today’s youth often face challenges that require resilience. A considerable part of Different Journeys is providing a safe space for creativity and positivity that allows our youth to demonstrate strengths and abilities to overcome these challenges.
Quarterly we would like to recognise certain individuals who have gone above and beyond and thank them for their personal contributions. We all have a different journey to walk, but together, we can make that journey a better place!
Georgia is one of our vibrant young autistic individuals. She brings enthusiasm when we see her. She has recently signed up to be a volunteer at some of our events. She is part of our community and we are proud to celebrate Georgia and are continually reminded from our young voices to keep it real.
Listen to Georgia say a few words about herself and her involvement with Different Journeys HERE.
Different Journeys recognises and embraces the richness, strengths and opportunities that diversity brings and encourages and respects a diverse range of individuals and views.
Different Journeys acknowledge that we live, work, and meet together on the lands of the Kulin nation. We acknowledge the continuing connection to this land that members of the Kulin nation have, and we thank them for caring for the land and waters since time immemorial. We acknowledge Elders past and present. We recognise and respect that sovereignty was never ceded, and a treaty has yet to be signed. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
